Tito Monako

Tito Monako is a Kenyan-born, Netherlands-based bassist, singer‑songwriter, and producer whose musical journey spans more than two decades and crosses continents, cultures, and genres. Known for his deep groove, refined musicality, and emotionally charged performances, Tito has built a reputation as one of the most versatile and expressive artists in the Afro‑inspired electronic landscape.

Raised in Kenya, Tito’s earliest influences came from the rhythms, melodies, and storytelling traditions of East Africa. His connection to music began through the bass — an instrument that became both his voice and his anchor. Over the years, he developed a distinctive playing style defined by warmth, precision, and an intuitive sense of movement. His ability to blend African rhythmic language with contemporary global sounds has made him a sought‑after collaborator across Afrofusion, Hip Hop, Soul, Afro‑Jazz, and modern electronic music.

Tito’s career took a major leap when he joined Sauti Sol, one of Africa’s most celebrated bands, touring the world with them from 2013 to 2018. Performing on international stages and contributing to award‑winning projects, he refined his craft as a performer and studio musician, gaining global exposure and deepening his artistic identity. His bass work — rich, melodic, and unmistakably rooted in African tradition — became a defining element of the band’s live sound during those years.

As a solo artist and producer, Tito channels the stories of his upbringing into music that feels intimate yet expansive. His songwriting blends personal reflection with cultural memory, while his production style merges organic instrumentation with modern electronic textures. Whether through soulful vocals, intricate bass lines, or atmospheric arrangements, Tito’s music carries a sense of depth and authenticity that resonates across borders.

Today, Tito Monako is actively collaborating with artists from nativemusik, contributing his voice, musicianship, and production skills to new projects within the label’s roster. His work with Batuque reflects a shared artistic vision: elevating Afro‑inspired electronic music through craftsmanship, cultural integrity, and meaningful collaboration.

With more than 22 years of experience, a global artistic footprint, and a sound that bridges tradition and innovation, Tito Monako stands as a powerful creative force — an artist whose music moves between worlds while remaining deeply connected to the roots that shaped him.
